WHO YOU ARE: You are a student of music of any age/skill level and you are looking to have fun while learning more about your instrument. You are looking for new or renewed inspiration in music; whether you desire to prepare for auditions, sing at church on Sundays, or just to sing in the shower.

WHO I AM: I hold Masters Degree in Opera Performance from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Alaska Anchorage. I am a professional classical singer who has appeared in both concert and operatic productions across Canada, the U.S., and the Czech republic. My musical life began as a Jazz Singer and while it was the "classical bug" that grabbed me I feel at home teaching more popular techniques as well as classical vocal production.

WHAT I TEACH: In my experience a great teacher is one who inspires and helps to guide a student to capture that inspiration on their own. Each student has different needs and therefore lesson plans are individual for each student. In general I strive to share with each student the foundations of singing, from the basics of breathing to vowel articulation to vocal placement. Students will also learn basic music theory, sight singing techniques, diction, and performance preparation. I am also a firm believer that the human body as a whole is the singer's instrument and therefore teach a wide variety of movement in-order to free the voice.

HOW MUCH: Initial consultation/lesson is FREE. Lessons are arranged in half-hour and one hour increments on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. 1/2 hour lessons are $25 and one hour lessons are $40.
